About Us

The Borough of Lakehurst Historical Society was chartered in 1990, and our museum was established in 1993 at the site of the Old St. John’s Catholic Church in Lakehurst, NJ (built in 1874 and the first Catholic Church opened in Ocean County). Our museum features a wide collection of artifacts dating back to the revolutionary war. Learn about the history of the Lakehurst Railroad Industry, the Pine Tree Inn Hotel, and of course the great Airships that our town is well known for. There is even an old jail cell from 1913 if you dare to lock yourself inside!

The Borough of Lakehurst Historical Society is a nonprofit organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers. We strive to preserve Lakehurst’s past and to tell our story to future generations.

Our Museum is Open on WEDNESDAY and SUNDAY from 12:30 to 3:00 PM.
